"Mourning at a coffee shop"
As I sat in a coffee shop in August (2017), I challenged myself to do some free writing. I left with three poems, all varied in length, which touched upon my atmosphere as well as the nostalgia of the scents and sounds around me. One poem, entitled Mourning Dove, was the inspiration for this painting.
I experimented with wordplay, metallic paints, and various textures.
